On October 18, 2024, Philip Morris International Inc. (the “Company”) announced that its deconsolidated Canadian affiliate, Rothmans, Benson & Hedges Inc. ("RBH"), had informed the Company that the court-appointed mediator and monitor in RBH's Companies' Creditors Arrangement Act ("CCAA") proceeding filed a proposed plan of compromise and arrangement ("Proposed Plan") outlining the terms of a comprehensive resolution of tobacco product-related claims and litigation against RBH and its affiliates in Canada. The Proposed Plan remains subject to further negotiation, voting by claimants, and approval by the CCAA court.
The Company issued a press release on October 18, 2024, announcing this update. A copy of the press release is included as Exhibit 99.1 to this Current Report on Form 8-K and incorporated herein by reference.
